The following is a summary of a thread on the SANE Support Forum where people were/are responding to the question, "what mental health topics and skills do you think grade schools should teach in health class, and why?". We invite you to read it and respond to it in some way. If you really agree with some of the ideas in it, you can use this thread to support them with research, reasoning, and your own lived experiences. Summary 1. Self harm -Very common today -Not "gross" or attention-seeking -How people can help someone they know who is self-harming -Help people understand WHY some individuals self-harm -Teach simple emotional regulation methods for people who self-harm 2. Emotional Abuse and Bullying -People often don't see the situation they are in as abusive if they aren't physically hurt 3.
